The Inside Passage winds between the continental shoreline and the great Pacific from Alaska down to the Pacific Northwest. Revel in the scenery as you slowly glide past a maze of bays, glacier-carved fjords and waterways protected from the open sea by rugged, isolated islands. In the middle of this natural grandeur, you may see signs of human habitation—a lone totem pole, a small village clinging to the side of a hill, even the onion dome of a Russian orthodox church glittering in the distance. (B/L/D)
Day
13
Tracy Arm - Sawyer Glaciers - Juneau
Famed naturalist John Muir said of Tracy Arm, “no ice-work that I have ever seen surpasses this.” The 26-mile-long fjord is home to numerous glaciers, calving enormous chunks of ice into the clear waters; countless waterfalls streaming down the lush mountainsides; and a ravishing wildness you won’t soon forget. Later today, arrive in what may be America’s prettiest capital city, Juneau, surrounded by snowy peaks, wooded valleys and sparkling rivers. Stroll its picturesque streets, stopping in eclectic shops and cozy cafes. Or visit saloons from the Gold Rush era, including the Red Dog Saloon, which showcases Wyatt Earp’s gun. Perhaps embark on an optional trip on the Mount Roberts Tramway for spectacular views of the harbor and nearby mountains. Join a guide for a trek through the lush Tongass National Forest or an expedition to Mendenhall Glacier and the Juneau Icefields. (B/L/D)
Day
14
Skagway
The Alaskan Gold Rush transformed Skagway from a sleepy hamlet to a riotous boomtown. Step into the town’s colorful past at The Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Its restored frontier-style storefronts and rustic wooden boardwalks invite you to take a stroll into the past. Poke around in its colorful stores, visit The Red Onion Saloon with its honky-tonk piano and costumed barmaids and check out the nostalgic Trail of '98 Museum. Or ride the antique White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway past Deadhorse Gulch. (B/L/D)
Day
15
Scenic Cruising – Glacier Bay National Park
No roads lead to the pristine wilderness of Glacier Bay National Park. Nestled between the Gulf of Alaska, Tongass National Forest and the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, this 3.3-million acre preserve was established as a national park in 1980. Ice-sculpted peaks and valleys scoured by glaciers are evidence of the last Ice Age. Today, grizzly bears roam the seemingly endless spruce forests, bald eagles soar upon the thermals and majestic humpback whales ply the clear waters. From the comfort of your ship, watch this landscape of immense glaciers, towering peaks and icy rivers—and imagine what Alaska was like before the first human stepped foot upon the land. (B/L/D)
Day
16
Ketchikan
Scenic, remote Ketchikan clings to the side of a steep hillside overlooking the expanse of the northern Pacific. While ashore, check out the world’s largest collection of standing totem poles, intricately carved with native designs. If you like, consider taking an optional guided tour through town, a harbor cruise or a floatplane flightseeing trip. If you’re craving excitement, opt to do some fishing (Ketchikan calls itself the salmon capital of the world), paddle a kayak through the clear waters or journey into the mountains on a jeep. (B/L/D)
Day
17
Scenic Cruising – Inside Passage
Today is a day of relaxation as you cruise back to Vancouver through the famed Inside Passage. Relax and take advantage of your ship's superb facilities, or simply relax on deck with a drink and watch the unmatched scenery glide by your luxurios floating resort. (B/L/D)

18 Day Rockies Panorama & Alaska Cruise Reviews

Tour reviews from past clients of Global Journeys. 1 Reviews, Average Rating 3.0 of 5.
Initially we had a problem with getting our itinerary before the start of the tour. We received it 1 week prior to us leaving. It did take a few phone calls on our part to Yvonne (our tour consultant). Yvonne sorted it out with Trafalagar. Yvonne did finally receive the tour documents along with a letter of apology from Traflagar Tours for the mix up. The tour itself (Rockies Panorama with Alaska Cruise) was faultless. Everything ran very smoothly. Attractions and the tour director, Anne were great. Accomodation and our bus driver were terrific. I cannot speak highly enough of our bus driver, Virginia. She too was very knowledgable and so friendly and accomodating. I highly recommend Trafalgar Tours and their staff. From rested & relaxed travellers.
